Romeo Johnson is a Chattanooga, TN native, who got involved in music at Brainerd High School where he studied Music Theory and Conducting & Arranging also performing as the Bass Guitarist for his high school stage band. Romeo formed a very successful local band comprised of fellow classmates. After high school, Johnson studied music and theater at U.T. Chattanooga before heading to Los Angeles, California to begin his music career.
Romeo began to make a name for himself on the Los Angeles music scene at talent shows and open mic situations which provided opportunity for exposure to the newcomer. Romeo is a Baritone whose voice is smooth as silk and has an amazing vocal range like no other Falsetto to Bass. Johnson's Five-Octave Vocal Range allows him to sing as high as the Sopranos and as low as the Basses. Romeo's first gig was playing Bass Guitar and Background Singer for Ollie Ali Woodson (former lead singer of the Legendary Temptations).
Shortly after, Romeo began his touring career with: Vesta Williams as a Background Vocalist & Dancer, Jody Watley as a Bass Guitarist and Bass Synthist, Sheena Easton playing Bass Guitar and singing two duets and Background Vocals, Janet Jackson as a Background Vocalist and Background Vocal Section Leader, Mille Jackson, Rahsaan Patterson, Rufus, Teddy Riley & GUY, Blackstreet, Patti Austin, James Ingram, Jennifer Holliday, David Peaston, M.C. Hammer, Xzibit, Queen Latifah and the King of Pop Michael Jackson.
(Romeo is the only male vocalist to ever tour with Janet Jackson and the only vocalist to tour with both Janet and Michael Jackson.)

When Romeo is not on the road touring he is home in Southern California working as a Vocal Coach/Director to the likes of Teddy Riley, Blackstreet, P.Diddy/Sean Combs, Cassie from Badboy Entertainment, The Paradiso Girls from Interscope Records, Ester Dean from Zone 4 Interscope, Liz Davis from Big Machine Records, Rashe of Nikki 16, Steph Jones from Ludacris DTP Label, LinZee Nicole (formerly known as LinZee Starr), Lex Luther, Monet Monico of StarMaker and Tino Coury from Eleventh Records.

Recently Romeo auditioned vocal talent for NBC’s upcoming working title "The Voice." Producers John de Mol & Mark Burnett are searching for the best Voice in America! Based MTV's hit show "The Voice of Holland." This is a show about real talent, the best voice, right attitude, unique sound and performance that makes a lasting impression.
The Christina Aguilera Auditions
Romeo auditioned vocal talent for background singers need by Christina Aguilera's idea of embarking on a tour for her new album "Bionic." Twenty concerts were scheduled across the United States and Canada between July 15, 2010, and August 19, 2010.
The Lady Gaga Auditions
Romeo was pleased to audition talent for Lady Gaga's tour. The Monster Ball Tour is the second worldwide concert tour by American recording artist Lady Gaga in support of her third extended play, The Fame Monster.
MTV's Making His Band
Romeo helped select talent for P. Diddy's tour for the album "Last Train To Paris" in which a whole show was created named "Making His Band." Not only does Romeo serve as acting vocal coach, but as a director in the process. In 2010, Making His Band was nominated for a GLAAD Media Award for "Outstanding Reality Program" during the 21st GLAAD Media Awards.
MTV's StarMaker
Sean "Diddy" Combs and reality television visionary Mark Burnett join forces to produce P. Diddy's Starmaker - an innovative performance elimination show that brings together the best elements of reality television under one roof. Romeo helped train the vocal talent to best prepare for their performances.
